About Us

A Greek Soul by the North Sea

KALIMERA is more than a café.
It is a piece of Greece, brought to the Belgian coast.

Our story begins on the island of Corfu — surrounded by the Ionian Sea, Mediterranean flavours, warm hospitality and a culture where coffee, food and conversation are meant to be enjoyed, never rushed.

When I came to Oostende, I found something familiar.

The sea.

A different coast, a different country, yet the same feeling of looking towards the horizon and feeling at home.

That connection inspired me to create KALIMERA: a premium Greek café where the spirit of Greece meets the Belgian seaside.

At KALIMERA, we celebrate the flavours that are part of everyday life in Greece.

From authentic Greek gyros and our traditional Horiatiki salad to tzatziki, dolmades and a selection of Greek-inspired dishes, every part of our menu carries a touch of the Mediterranean.

And then, of course, there is coffee.

Coffee in Greece is not simply a drink.

It is a ritual.

It is meeting a friend, sitting in the sun, talking for hours and enjoying the moment.

With KALIMERA, I wanted to bring that experience to the Belgian coast.

We introduced our guests to the iconic Freddo Espresso and Freddo Cappuccino, alongside the legendary Greek Frappé and traditional Greek coffee — bringing the modern Greek coffee experience to Oostende.

Cold, bold, refreshing and unmistakably Greek.

The heart of KALIMERA is philoxenia — the Greek art of hospitality.

It means welcoming people with warmth, generosity and a genuine smile. It means making someone feel less like a customer and more like a guest.

That philosophy lives in everything we do.

From the atmosphere and flavours to the music, the coffee and the way we welcome you, every detail of KALIMERA carries a little note of Greece.

We want you to walk through our doors in Oostende and, even if only for a moment, feel as though you have travelled somewhere warmer.

Somewhere by the Mediterranean.

Somewhere where life slows down, coffee is enjoyed, food is shared and people come together.
